Today, I was part of a flash mob and press conference meant to launch a new non-profit organization, Operation: Wounded Minds. According to their website, the mission of Operation: Wounded Minds is to remove the shame and stigma from mental illness and the destructive cycles of PTSD so people will seek treatment. Today, the the course I am teaching along with Udacity, “Introduction to Data Science,” launched. The course covers the basic skills most data scientists have (data acquisition and munging, data analysis, data visualization, and big data techniques). The course is anchored by a project wherein students interact with data from the New York City MTA Subway system.

While on my birthright trip to Israel over the past couple of weeks, I was inspired to start a tumblr, “Pictures of Jews Taking Pictures of Israel.” As you can imagine, the blog features pictures of Jewish people taking photos of the Jewish homeland.

This Thanksgiving, I ran the Commodore Hull Thanksgiving 5K in Shelton, CT while home for the holiday. My data from the race is found below. I placed 180/648 overall, and 48/87 in the Male 18-29 division with a time of 25:07.
A couple of weeks ago, I set some lyrics for my friends Zach Zimmerman and Willie Myer’s sketch comedy show, “O’Hare No!” I went ahead and made a rough recording of the song myself — check it out!
